Americans in Pink
Taylor Phinney did a great job defending his Maglia Rosa today. Even with the mishaps (I thought electronic shifting was supposed to prevent dropped chains?) Either way, he buried himself to keep what he earned the day before. Of course Phinney isn’t the first American to wear the very fetching leader’s jersey of Italy’s Grand Tour. That distinction belongs to Andy Hampsten who had to battle much more “epic” conditions.
